Carpet Cleaning in Belfast

Most of what makes a carpet look tired is dry soil sitting down in the pile, grinding against the fibre every time someone walks on it. Getting it out is a different job to running a machine over the surface and hoping.

What it covers

What we take on

Where carpet cleaning usually gets called for, in homes and on commercial premises alike.

  • Living rooms and bedrooms

Whole-room cleans, including under and around furniture where we can move it safely.

  • Hallways, stairs and landings

The parts that take every journey through the house, and show it first.

  • Traffic lanes

The darker path worn between doorways — usually the reason people ring in the first place.

  • Spills and accidents

Drink, food and pet accidents, treated according to what went down and how long ago.

  • Offices and communal areas

Commercial carpet and carpet tiles, including stairwells and entrance matting areas.

  • Rentals between tenancies

Carpets cleaned while the property is empty, which is the easiest possible version of this job.

The method

How the job runs

The order matters more than most people expect — several of these steps stop the one after it going wrong.

  1. Walk the job and test

We look at the fibre, the backing and the worst areas, and test where it won't show. Wool and synthetic carpet don't take the same treatment.

  2. Dry vacuum properly

Dry soil comes out dry. Skipping this is the single most common shortcut, and it's why some cleans look flat as soon as the carpet dries.

  3. Pre-treat lanes and spots

Traffic lanes and individual marks are treated separately and left to work — a spot that's had time to break down comes out; one that's flooded straight away often doesn't.

  4. Clean and extract

The pile is cleaned through and the moisture pulled back out with the soil suspended in it, so the dirt leaves the room instead of drying back into the carpet.

  5. Set the pile and check it back

We go back over the areas that mattered, groom the pile the right way and tell you how long to keep off it.

Worth knowing

Before you book

The things worth saying out loud in advance, including what this job can't fix.

Worn is not the same as dirty

A traffic lane that's been walked on for ten years has lost fibre — the pile is physically damaged. It will come up cleaner, but it won't come back to matching the rest of the room, and we'd rather tell you that in advance.

Furniture

We'll shift what can be moved safely between us. Anything heavy, fragile or built in is best cleared or emptied beforehand — tell us what's in the room when you enquire.

Why some carpets re-soil quickly

Detergent left in the pile stays sticky and grabs dirt, so a carpet cleaned cheaply can look worse a month later than it did before. Rinsing properly is most of the job.

Questions

Carpet Cleaning — questions we get asked

Anything not covered here, ask when you enquire — it's easier to answer against the actual job.

How long do carpets take to dry?

It depends on the pile, how soiled it was and how well the room ventilates. Most rooms are walkable soon after in clean socks and fully dry the same day if you can keep air moving through. We'll tell you what to expect for your rooms before we start.

Can you get pet accidents out?

Often, yes — but it depends how far it went. If it's soaked through into the underlay or the floor beneath, cleaning the carpet alone won't fix the smell, and we'll tell you that when we look rather than take the job and leave you with it.

How often should carpets be cleaned?

A busy family house tends to want doing once a year; a spare room goes several years. Hallways and stairs usually want doing before the rest of the house does.
